Everett was blessed Sunday, August 7th. We were so glad that our family was able to come in to town for it. We had a fun bbq after and this is Everett hanging out with his cousin Sam and his other "cousin" (2nd cousin) Elle. We think they will all be great friends :).

Everett is currently napping and I finally have a spare moment to put this on here!! Here are some pictures of my little man :). I love him. He is the greatest baby. He was born on Sunday May 29th--his due date!! We got up that morning, went to Sacrament meeting, left church, went to the hospital and got there around 12:00 and he was born at 4:48! Everything went smooth and speedy!! We love him so much and couldn't ask for a better child!!

So Tyler has been working SO hard trying to get this cradle built for our little guy before he decides to make his debut. He spends most of his spare time in our neighbors' shop (that they so generously offer to Tyler to use whenever he needs) working tirelessly to get it done in time. He has done such a great job and it's very special to have something like this to pass down and use for all of our kids. It is really coming together and it looks GREAT so far, so I wanted to share some pictures of his progress. It is definitely slow going when trying to fit time in on available evenings and weekends to build it, but it is ALMOST DONE! (Actually that is where he is right now at this moment ha ha--so dedicated.)

Yay!! The body of the cradle is finally put together!! I love it! It looks so good. It will also match our bedroom very well because the design was created to have similar qualities to our bedrooms set. He is now working on the gliding mechanism and the legs. Not too much longer and our little guy will have his own little deluxe bed to sleep in when he gets here. I am so grateful for the skills and talents that my wonderful hubby has to do amazing things like this.

I will make sure to post pictures of the final product with the bedding and everything in it. I have also had some pregnant picture requests and so that will probably eventually come as well as some pictures of his nursery. It is all starting to come together and I can't wait until he gets here when it can all be put to good use!

Ty and I are first time Aunt and Uncle (Tia and Tio) and we are loving every minute of it. Baby Sam was born to Tom and Maria Burton (Ty's sister and her husband) on November 23rd and we love the little dude. SO in honor of little Sam and the Burton family...here are a few favorite pictures.

It's A BOY!

We were really surprised to find out that little baby Thackeray is going to be a boy, especially with Tyler's prediction "I am about 90% sure it's a girl". Yeah...guess again. Of course we couldn't be more happy. We loved being able to see him in the ultrasound. It was great to check up on him and make sure everything is just as it should be in there.

He is due May 29th, Memorial Day weekend!! We will see when he decides to come.

We are excited for all the playing in the mud, sports games, and lots of energy that comes with little boys. We are still thinking of names for the little guy. It still doesn't even seem real!! I can already guess he will be a "mini-me" version of Tyler because his ultrasound profile looks like Ty's profile, not to mention the moving and shaking this little guy does all the time! He makes it tough for the nurse to take his heartbeat when he won't sit still for a long enough time. Yep...sounds just like Tyler :)

We spent the 24th of July weekend in Etna, California at the Thackeray Family Reunion! We stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house and were very grateful for their hospitality! It was so much fun. We enjoyed every part about it and were sad when the weekend was over and it was time to go. Luckily we have pictures to remember all the good times!

4th of July

Fishing Trip

For the 4th, we both had Monday off from work and so we took the day to go to Marion Lake. It was about a 3 mile hike in to the lake so we packed a lunch and our gear and headed for the mountains!

Utah

So since Tyler decided he'd leave the country and go spend two weeks in Sweden, I couldn't just stay at home all by myself! So I went and visited the family in Utah! It was lots of fun--but we definitely missed Tyler a lot!

While I was there, I was able to go cheer Briggs on at his T-Ball games.

What a great player :) Tyler was such a sweetheart and surprised me by sending the most beautiful flowers. My mom liked that part with me staying with her. :)

And really, what is a trip to Utah without 4-wheeling with the family?! So we took a weekend camping trip down to San Rafael Swell. We enjoyed a nice break from the trail to play in some water.

Dad convinced Briggs that he should drink the water coming out of the rock, so that was pretty funny to watch.

Me and Marie and Briggs hiked up a hill so he could do his favorite thing in the world: throw rocks.

SWEDEN

Tyler was sent to Sweden for business. His work sent him there for training. It was a two week long course, filled with 12 hours worth of training during the day. He learned all about a robotic machine meant for milking cows. He is now the only person west of Illinois to be trained in this new technology. He will most likely be installing these machines next spring here in Oregon! It is a great opportunity for him. He was excited for the opportunity as it means great things for his future career as well as our family!

Home Sweet Home

This is the LDS Church in Stockholm, Sweden, where Tyler was able to attend Sacrament Meeting Riding the train to church! The Classroom:

Where he learned all about how to fix, and build these robots (seen in the photo).

They were able to go sightseeing on a Saturday afternoon and so they took the train into Stockholm, the capital city. This is a picture of a sunken ship pulled off the ocean floor. ICE BAR: A bar made out of ice. You name it; the walls, seats, and even the cups! Everyone wore ponchos to keep warm! It's quite the attraction for everyone--including families and kids, so there were many non-alcoholic options.

So, I just wanted to do an update of what we have been up to lately. Mostly it has just been work, but on the weekends we have used our time to do those springtime projects we have been excited to do. So...first and foremost...We put in a new front door!

These pictures are of last weekend when we started the renovation of our lawn. Tyler and Tom tilled it under to get it ready to plant grass seed.

So to start out the landscaping in the backyard we bought a couple of little fruit trees to put in. One was an apple tree and the other is a pear tree. Due to Mya and her spare time in the backyard, we are down to only one pear tree. The apple tree turned into her chew toy. Oops....

So since we planted two new trees, we decided to bring one down while we were at it. These pictures are of when we chopped down a dead tree in our backyard. The boys cut it down and chopped it all up, and the girls stacked the logs into a pile.

For Christmas our lovely parents (Mom and Dad Hunt) gave us snowboarding passes!! We were very excited, since this is something Tyler and I really enjoy doing together. SOOOO last saturday we took his sister MALENA (cause she pretty much rocks and we love her) and went up the mountain. The snow in Oregon is very different than the snow in less humid areas of the world such as Utah. It is much more wet, and if you haven't had a recent snow, it feels slushy/icy. It was pretty foggy up there, but we still had a great time, because we LOVE snowboarding :)

One Year Down, Eternity To Go

Okay, first stop on our anniversary weekend adventure was....the Temple!! We thought this would be a good tradition to start. We were grateful to go in and do a session and reminesce on the wonderful events that took place here exactly one year ago.
After the temple we went into Portland, did a little shopping, went to Ikea, and went out to lunch! Our next stop was our Mt Hood Cabin!!

We stayed in this little private cabin next to the Sandy River hidden within the trees. It was a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing weekend here.

This is Tyler thinking he's going to do a little fishing on this river. It turned out to be not so successful on the fish catching, but we had a great time and I got some good pictures of him having fun :)

Yeah, when I said the cabin was rustic, it was true....complete with a stuffed pheasant and LOTS of horns and antlers decorating the walls.

We had SOOO much fun on our trip for the weekend. Our favorite part was the HOT TUB :) We even enjoyed seeing a little bit of snow amongst the lots of rain we had. It was a complete opposite from our actual honeymoon a year ago, which was one of the reasons we chose it. We loved the contrast between our private, peaceful and relaxing mountain cabin and the Mexico beach resort we stayed in for our honeymoon. This year has definitely flown by, and yet so much has happened!! We have loved our first year together and hope that each year that comes will be just as good if not better than our first.

Okay so just wanted to write up a little update. First of all, WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!! YAY! We're so excited. We have been working so hard and spending every spare minute fixing up the home. It's an older one, built in the 1949 and so there's some fun updating we've been able to do. We couldn't have done it all so fast with out all the help from Tyler's family!! The whole crew (Tyler's mom and dad, brothers and sisters, and even our dear friends Rachel and Aunt Lisa) came over many times to help clean and paint everything. They've been such a great help. There are so many funny quirks about this house as well as our makeover process that I would love to share pictures of, however due to our recent move...we currently do not have internet. This being the case, I cannot upload my pictures so I can post them on here. Hopefully we will be able to get that up later this week, however until then, you'll just have to deal with my ramblings about it. Either that, or come see for yourself ;) *hint* *hint*

We love our new little puppy!!

Tyler had a friend that he worked with on one of the farms that he services. This particular friend also happened to have a cholcolate lab with a new litter of puppies!! So, Tyler and I picked out a cute little girl and named her Mya (her full name being Myeisha). :)

We've had her for about two to three weeks now and we have loved training her. Although she's quite mischevious, she's also very playful and fun. We've done such fun things with her. We took her and Scooter on a walk to the willamette river and she jumped right in!! She loves swimming in the water. We discovered this when we took her to the coast with Tyler's family and their dog. This was a blast. She is definitely the center of attention when in public. We had many groups of people coming up wanting to pet her. It was funny. She's definitely spunky and never ceases to make us laugh. I'm pretty sure she grows bigger EVERY DAY, which is true about labs. Unfortunately I only have a few pictures of her on my computer, but hopefully I'll be able to post more soon.

Yes, Bear lake is one of the funnest places on this earth, especially if you are with crazy, exciting family!! It was sooo much fun and I miss all of my family so much, but it was great to be able to spend a whole week with them. Christmas is way too far away to see them again.

Yep. It's true. I have the best husband ever. Let me share with you just one of the reasons why. He bought me a PIANO for my birthday!! YEAH! I am the luckiest girl ever. We bought the piano last saturday. We got a good deal on it through a local store's closing sale. It was a week early for my birthday, since it's not until this saturday, however Tyler had to go out of town this week for some schooling for work. He left early monday morning and will get home late friday night. I miss him SOO much and I'm so excited for him to come home. He was very kind to give me my birthday present early so that I could enjoy playing it this week while he's been gone. Thank you so much Tyler! It's small and simple--but perfect for our first piano for our home.

Tyler and I had so much fun in Hawaii!! We were so lucky to go. We went with Tyler's family, and visited some good friends of theirs currently living there. It was SO nice to get away from the overcast rain and enjoy some good ole' natural vitamin D sunlight. These are some pictures of some of the fun things that we did.

We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was very entertaining. We loved this Somoan guy's show. He was very funny. Here, he started a fire with two sticks and a coconut. We also really liked the canoe show where they had a long canoe boat representing each Island.

We found a beach with big waves so that the boys could try out body surfing.

Unfortunately, one of the disadvantages was the coral in the water that left it's mark. Tyler had a good crash in the waves, and came away with some battle scars left by the coral.

We played on the beach a lot! Tyler and Tom found some crab holes and dug them up. In this picture, Tyler is holding out his shovel showing me his crab they found.

On Sunday we walked to the temple and toured the visitor's center. The temple is currently closed for construction, so we weren't able to do a session, but the grounds were SO beautiful to visit.

Tyler and I went hiking to Silver falls to celebrate our beautiful spring weather! The falls are great in the spring with all of the melting snow run off. We had fun hiking along to a bunch of different falls. Silver falls is particularly special to Tyler and I because it was here that he told me he loved me for the very first time! We have loved going back and enjoying the lush green of Oregon! And yes, we took the dog....Tyler, looking quite distinguished in his nature surrounding. Tyler says this is my "what am I doing here?" face.

Utah Trip!

We had such a fun trip in Utah a few weeks ago. We flew in thursday night, and flew out after church on sunday afternoon. It was definitely too short! We were able to go to the early friday morning session at the Temple and see Grandpa there!! It was so special. We loved it. It was my first time through the Salt Lake Temple so I was very excited. That night we had a huge party where everyone came over and visited!! We missed seeing those who couldn't make it, but it was a fun party anyway! Saturday we went 4-wheeling to the little sahara and went to dinner that night for Karli's birthday. We loved being there! We need to come back and visit soon. I've included some pictures of our time in Utah.

It all comes with the job...

When marrying Tyler, I knew full well what I was getting into. I knew that he was a little prone to hurting himself, especially on the job, and I knew that eventually something would happen. Today we were able to experience this. On my way to work this morning, I got a call from Tyler's mom. "Alli, have you talked to your husband this morning??" I replied that I hadn't since I had kissed him goodbye on his way to work. "Well his dad is on his way to meet him, he hurt himself". Oh no. She went on talking about some kind of head injury and that they were going to assess how bad it was and if he needed to go to the ER. She says to continue on to work and she'll keep me updated. After about 10 minutes of being at work I get another call from his mom. "Okay so Tyler and his dad can't decide whether to go to the ER or not, so they are coming to let you see." Yeah, okay, like I am supposed to know if he should or not. So his dad brings him here and I assess the damage. Deep 1 inch to 2 inch laceration on the back top crown of his head, bleeding continuously. Apparently he had been leaning down checking on some parts while servicing one of the dairies he goes to, and stood up too fast, hitting the back of his head on a metal valve. The decision was made, "Tyler, let's go to the doctor".

At this point Tyler was in pain, he had a headache, and he was a little grumpy and disgruntled. He wasn't such a fan of the idea of going to the ER, but we went anyway. Soon the tylenol started to kick in and he soon became a happy little patient there. We didn't have to wait too long, so that was a good thing. We promptly went back, was examined by the nurse, and then shuffled into a room. The nurse came in and washed out the cut, cleaned it well, and prepared it for the doctor. Yep, here was the verdict. It was going to need staples. We waited for a while and the doctor came in, assessed the damage, and relayed the information to us. Tyler could just take the staples, or they could numb it up first. He took it like a man, and refused the numbing. So the doctor then "inserts" 4 staples into his head. Tyler is now walking around with a frankenstein monster cut on his head.

It was our first trip to the ER and I thought it ended quite successful. Tyler insisted on going back to work, so I dropped him off at his office before heading back to mine. With such an exciting morning, we had to share it with the family :). I hope you enjoyed our story!

What we've been up to

Hey friends and family!

I just thought I'd post some pictures of things we've been doing lately! Last month Maria and Tom got married and so me and melena were able to dress up as her bridesmaids in our little blue dresses, matching white gloves and shoes.

Mom and Dad Hunt gave Tyler and I snowboarding passes for Christmas and so last week we took advantage of the beautiful weather to hit the slopes!! It was SO fun. Tyler is a very good snowboarder. :) It's nice we both have our own equipment so we can go often!
Tyler and I bought our first appliances. We are now owners of a Kenmore set washer and dryer! I love having my own machines at home so that I can throw a batch of laundry in whenever I want!! I love it!!!
So those are some exciting little tidbits of information from us. We are also cleaning constantly for the realtors coming and occasionally showing the house, but those wouldn't be very exciting pictures so I didn't post any. It is an ongoing battle with the scooter hair, but we are managing. We hope to hear from everyone soon!

Strange things are happening....

Ain't no doubt about it!
Okay so I'm here at work in my pediatrician office and Toy Story the movie is playing in the corner playing that song and it made me think "Hey, strange things have been happening" so I thought I'd update what's going on.
STRANGE THINGS
My family has decided to abandon me to return to their homeland of Utah. My dad got a new job there in Salt Lake and so last Saturday they ventured off. Here's the catch though, they are guessing that it will take a little while to sell their house here and they want to make sure it is taken care of in the meantime while they are in Utah. SO, being the good children that we are, Tyler and I decided to make the sacrifice of moving out of our sad little 1 bedroom apartment to a big 4 bedroom cozy beautiful new home. It was a drastic change! I am now spoiled with a large kitchen with cupboard space galore. We can now use our dresser to actually hold our clothes instead of pans and kitchen supplies!
Yesterday I took advantage of the amazing kitchen and cooked like crazy. I tried out a new recipe of Banana Nut Muffins (which turned out pretty good!), made some tasty chocolate chip cookies, and then created a lovely Chicken Parmesean italian style dinner, complete with garlic bread, and green beans, and candlelight.
Tyler and I must have been in sync yesterday because for no apparent reason we both had the urge to suprise each other! Tyler surprised me and came home from his class with a bouquet of daisies and I suprised him with all my baking and a quaint little dinner for two. We decided that it is VERY good for a marriage to make just an ordinary night, special.
Anyway, I got sidetracked.
Another strange thing is that my parents house came with a dog. We temporarily (hear that mom!? TEMPORARILY) own a dog. They were not able to take Scooter the dog with them to the place they are renting in Utah so we are watching him as well until the house sells. Tyler has had to adjust with this one. We're not such a fan of the shedding and the fact that he always needs to be around us and barks whenever someone comes to the door. However we are adjusting and we manage.
We are now in my parents old ward. It is a nice and friendly ward and we already know some people in it, so that is nice. They have already put me to work and gave me a calling as Beehive Advisor in Young Womens. I now attend mutual wednesday nights and go to young women on sundays. It is fun to get to know Marie's friends even though she's not here anymore. I think it will be a good calling. Tyler has yet to get one so we'll see what the Bishop has in store for him.
ANYWAY those are only some of the changes we've seen recently and we know that they don't stop there.

Tis the Season

It is our first Christmas together and we are so excited. It will be a Thackeray Christmas this year, as my family is heading to Utah and abandoning us. We are so excited to spend Christmas with the Thackerays. They went with us to help us pick out, and cut down our very first Christmas Tree and then my mom let us borrow some of her decorations to dress it up. We love the way it turned out!

Tyler was playing around with the camera and loved taking the dark night pictures of the tree. We thought it looked so cool!

Nana gave us our first Nativity scene and made our beautiful tree skirt. Thank you Nana! She's great. This is beautiful and fills up our dresser/hutch top.

Our Mexican Adventure

This is a place called Lover's Beach. You can see the cruise ships in the background. It is enclosed by rocks and so most people come here by paying for a boat ride. We however decided to be adventurous and hiked all over those rocks and made our way there. Ty and I had so much fun hanging out on the beach, relaxing, and enjoying the sun. Our hiking adventure.

They had tennis courts at our resort. Tyler and I decided that this would be a new hobby for us to do together.

We had so much fun spending time in Mexico. We had beautiful weather the whole time we were there. It was so nice to have Tyler's spanish speaking ability to get us around town. One of my favorite parts was taking a local bus into Centro and walking around the town and shops. It was so nice to relax. What a wonderful vacation.

The Wedding is Over....

Well the wedding is over and Tyler and I are back from our honeymoon. We had a beautiful ceremony in the Portland LDS Temple, and enjoyed a large celebration that night. We had so much fun that day and both of us agreed that it was perfect! It was very special and we know we will remember it forever. Thank you so much to all of our family (on both sides) that were able to make it. We know how much of a sacrifice it was, and we appreciated every single persons presence there. To those who couldn't make it, we definitely understand and hope to be able to see you soon. I will post pictures of our special day when I have time. We had a wonderful week last week relaxing in the heat of Cabo San Lucas. We had high 80's and blue skies all week long and we definitely took advantage of the good weather by laying by the pool, on the beach, swimming, hiking, playing tennis, and walking around downtown Cabo. We will also put up those pictures as soon as possible. Now we are back in the swing of life as we both head back to work. I'm currently on my 12 hour shift at my new receptionist job at a pediatrician office and so I had some down time to make this blog! Having recently opened our wedding gifts, our apartment is now a large mess of us trying to move in and get things situated. It's our goal to try and get things in order by the end of this week. We'll see how we do. Wish us luck!
